Situated on Jl. Guru Patimpus in Medan, the newly completed MBS Hotel makes a bold statement with its striking modern architectural facade. Completed in 2026, the design is defined by a deep-toned exterior palette, panels of textured stone-cladded columns, and expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing across multiple stories. The architectural concept centers around a commanding main entrance, featuring a unique and massive glowing geometric rectangular light frame that serves as a sophisticated beacon, drawing the eye from the street level while illuminating the main entrance.
The comprehensive Hannochs lighting strategy for MBS Hotel utilizes multiple layers of warm light to define the building’s form and elevate the guest experience from dusk to dawn. Multiple vertical, warm linear cove lights streak up the full height of the facade columns, complemented by discrete, compact black up-and-down wall sconces positioned at every floor level. Through the large windows, the warm, sophisticated interior cove lighting is clearly visible, hinting at the intimate ambiance crafted within the public spaces and public areas. From the dramatic exterior vertical lines to the inviting central entrance feature, every fixture was chosen to optimize visual comfort and emphasize the hotel’s luxurious yet welcoming identity.
